Introducing the new Sauber F1 C44 #24 FY with an official license from Sauber Motorsport, AFX used the sponsor logos, livery details and body specs of the real life cars to create the most realistic HO scale version possible.
The Swiss company, Sauber Motorsport, shot off the starting line when it was founded in 1970. After its debut in F1 in 1993, Sauber carved out a name for itself. Not only were they one of the few traditional, privately held teams in the sport, they set standards in the design, development and construction of race cars to this day.
Sauber Motorsport conducts full and model-scale testing in the factory’s state-of-the-art wind tunnel providing ground-breaking innovation in the field of aerodynamics. The company’s evolutionary skill and artistry helped earn its induction into the exclusive club of teams to have competed in more than 500 F1 races. The 2024 Sauber F1 C44 #24, driven by Zhou Guanyu alongside Stake 1 teammate Valtteri Bottas in #77, is built with a lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque featuring a Ferrari-supplied 1.6L V6 turbo engine and a redline of 15,000 RPM. The C44’s most dramatic shift may be the change from push-rod to pull-rod suspension, lowering the car’s center of gravity. That, coupled with its aerodynamic features – revised sculpted sidepods and a complex front wing – help maximize downforce while minimizing drag.
