1/350 Japanese Destroyer Yukikaze Movie "Yukikaze" Special Edition
This summer marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, and the film "YUKIKAZE" will be released. It is based on the destroyer Yukikaze, the only one of the 38 Type A destroyers that served as the Imperial Japanese Navy's main battleships to survive the war and be known as the "Miracle Destroyer." Set against the backdrop of a turbulent era spanning the Pacific War, postwar, and into the present, this epic film depicts the lives and fates of those who struggled to survive. Based on historical facts, the story of Yukikaze is told from a new perspective. A limited-edition kit will be released in special packaging to coincide with the film's nationwide release on Friday, August 15th.
Model Specifications
Yukikaze was a battle-hardened destroyer that fought from the beginning to the end of the Pacific War. This plastic model assembly kit recreates the ship's appearance during Operation Ten-Ichi-Go in April 1945, when she served as an escort for the battleship Yamato. To coincide with the release of the film, special packaging is available, inspired by scenes from the film.
1/350 scale, overall length 338mm, overall width 31mm. Its powerful form, including its upgraded anti-aircraft machine guns and radar, is faithfully modeled.
The hull is divided into left and right parts, and the seams in the outer panels and the external electrical wiring are also delicately depicted.
The anchor chain and propeller shaft are made of high-quality metal.
Laser processing technology has been used to create the machine guns, even down to the flame suppressors and heat sinks, for a meticulous finish.
The two main gun turrets and two torpedo tubes can be rotated even after completion thanks to polycaps.
A pedestal is included for displaying the model in full hull form.
Once completed, it can be stored in the kit's packaging.
Features
The main gun turret can be rotated even after assembly. The gun elevation angle can be selected for normal or anti-aircraft combat. The anchor chain is made of metal for a rich three-dimensional appearance.
The bridge windows and searchlight lenses are made with transparent parts, which, combined with the precise molding of the superstructure, enhance the realism of the ship.
The front and rear masts and flagpole are made of durable ABS resin. A jig for assembling the tripod mast is also included.
The sharp bow edge unique to destroyers is also faithfully reproduced. The ship's high speed of 35.5 knots is also conveyed.
The hull can be displayed in either full hull or waterline configuration, greatly expanding the enjoyment of displays and scene creation.
The rear mast radar, anti-aircraft machine gun shield, ladders, propeller guards, etc. are all reproduced with photo-etched parts for a sharp finish.
