The Tamiya recreation of the Toyota Celica LB Turbo Gr. 5 is a re-issue kit that originally sold in 1978 as a motorized model kit. This release includes new Cartograf decals, updated instruction manual and packaging.

About the Toyota Celica LB Turbo Gr.5

The Toyota Celica LB Turbo was a Group 5 car developed for the 1977 DRM (German Racing Championship). Based upon the road car Celica Liftback, the car featured aerodynamic components such as bulging over fenders and rear wing and employed numerous FRP body panels. An extensively modified body and 2,090cc, 560hp inline-4 DOHC turbo engine were utilized. This car made its debut in July 1977, and in October of the same year, it beat the Porsche 935, achieving its maiden victory.
