Slash VXL transforms 11.1 volts of 3s LiPo power into 60+ mph speed and tire-scorching acceleration. This is brushless performance done the Traxxas way: brutally fast and easy to use.
The Magnum 272R transmission is built for the hard-hitting torque of Velineon brushless power. The 272R features a blue anodized aluminum motor plate, all-metal gears, and a sealed silicone-filled 4-gear differential. Slash VXL’s extreme HD driveshafts are also strengthened with large-diameter half shafts for increased power handling.
Factory-installed Extreme Heavy Duty axle carriers, caster blocks, and steering blocks, are beefed-up with extra material to give Slash VXL ultimate strength and durability. With the addition of HD suspension arms made from Traxxas’ toughest composite material, this is the strongest suspension ever offered in a 2WD Slash.
Slash VXL’s clipless body holds firm no matter how rough the racing gets. Heavy-duty latches grip the body tightly, but release in just seconds for fast battery swaps on the pit bench. This convenient hidden latching system replaces traditional body clips with large, reinforced panels to maintain body integrity and resist pull-through damage.
Slash VXL’s Extreme HD driveshafts are beefed up in critical areas for outrageous power handling. The large-diameter half shafts offer excellent articulation and suspension travel and hold up to the Velineon brushless system’s tire-smoking torque with ease.
Slash VXL's oil-filled Ultra Shocks utilize X-ring technology for a perfect seal and super-smooth performance. They are fully tunable with a wide range of oils, springs, and pistons. Features include pressure bladders for air/oil separation and spring clips to precisely change the ride height and spring pre-load.
Slash VXL's long 13.2″ wheelbase chassis provides superior stability on high-speed straights with over 3.5 inches of ground clearance to prevent bottoming out. The chassis includes drain holes and a battery tray channel for routing servo wires to the receiver.
Tough integrated nerf bars offer side chassis protection against the fender-to-fender impacts of track competition and backyard bashing.
A race truck needs a powerful steering servo for responsive performance. The Traxxas 2075 waterproof digital high-torque servo provides precise steering authority and speed for wheel-to-wheel racing in the backyard or on the track.
Slash VXL's patented sealed receiver box gives you the freedom to drive where you want, when you want. The antenna and servo wires route neatly through a special water-tight seal. A blue O-ring seals the receiver box to protect the receiver from water.
The TQi 2.4 GHz radio system stores up to thirty models in memory, allowing you to use one transmitter for your entire RC garage. Integrated telemetry ports in the receiver transmit real-time data to the TQi transmitter when using the Traxxas Link™ App and optional telemetry sensors (sold separately). In the event of signal loss, the receiver automatically returns the throttle to neutral and holds the last steering position.
Slash VXL's innovative battery tray accommodates a wide selection of NiMH and LiPo batteries. The extended tray allows the battery packs to be positioned forward or backward for front/rear weight bias tuning. An optional battery expander kit (sold separately) is available for use with oversize batteries.
Slash VXL's BFGoodrich® Mud Terrain T/A® tires have excellent grip in the dirt and just the right amount of slide on pavement. Their authentic scale appearance and realistic performance add to the racing experience. The tires come mounted and pre-glued to 2.2″ Split-Spoke dual-profile SCT wheels.

High-flying stunts won’t upset Slash VXL's tough clipless body. Locking tabs hold the body tightly, but release in just seconds. Slash’s hidden latching system maximizes convenience and scale realism by removing traditional body clips which would interrupt the body’s clean lines.
Engineered to handle the abuse of bumper-to-bumper bashing, the scale tube-style bumpers are designed to absorb brutal impacts while looking the part of a true short course race truck.
Slash VXL comes outfitted with factory-installed Extreme Heavy Duty suspension components for ultimate strength and durability. The rear axle carriers, C-hubs, and steering blocks are beefed up with more material and stronger construction.
Semi-metallic pads and finned aluminum alloy pressure plates dissipate heat and provide consistent traction. The semi-metallic friction material remains stable across a wide temperature range to provide smooth, linear engagement. Spur gears can be removed and replaced without altering the slipper adjustment.
The race-ready transmission is built for massive torque with high-strength steel input, idler, and differential gears and large-diameter bearings. The input gear is keyed and press fit onto the top shaft for greater precision and strength than a pin-mounted gear.
The differential is ball-bearing supported directly at the differential case, rather than mounting bearings on the differential outputs. This design better supports the differential, reduces bearing drag, and isolates differential action.
The Magnum 272R transmission is engineered for strength and precision with a tough reinforced case. The case halves engage precisely to seal out dirt and debris and create a rigid mounting structure for the motor and suspension arms. A thick 3.2 mm aluminum motor plate creates a rigid backbone for the housing and helps dissipate heat.
The heavy-duty steel-gear differential is sealed with X-rings and gaskets and silicone-filled to resist unloading under power. Differential locking action is easy to tune with thicker or thinner silicone oil to suit track conditions.
Different track conditions require different levels of grip. Slash VXL makes it easy to change the differential’s locking action by varying the fluid viscosity inside. Disconnect the driveshafts and open the hatch and you’ll be on your way to victory in minutes.
