The IS-2 tank was developed in 1943 as a successor to earlier models of heavy tanks serving in the Red Army. Its crew consisted of 4 people. The main armament was a 122mm gun that could penetrate the armor of the best German tanks like the Tiger and Panther. The IS-2 played an important role in the Battle of Berlin, where it contributed to the final defeat of the Third Reich.
