The classic wooden Walking Tyrannosaurus, originally released in 1993, has undergone a makeover. The formerly used metal gearbox and parts are changed to the assembled plastic gearbox (featuring built-in motor with cables) and plastic parts for safe and ease of assembly. Transparent plastics offer visibility of mechanisms.
One separately sold AA battery is required. Continuous running time: about three hours.
The assembled plastic gearbox has only two cables, which eliminates the difficult assembly of the power unit.
Gear ratio: 280:1.
Speed: about 4cm/s. (The model moves 1m in about 25 seconds.)
The body is redesigned based upon in-depth research at the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum.
The body made of wood allows easy modifications and decoration with paint and pens.
Materials: transparent plastic and wood (poplar-type).
The model strides forward with legs featuring U-shaped parts at soles moving arms, neck and tail. The model also rocks as its weight transfers, and its legs move forward.
Running on even surfaces is recommended. On uneven surfaces such as carpets, the model may not move or fall.
Challenge level: 2 (5 is the highest.). Approximate assembly time : 90 - 120 minutes.
