The super-efficient shaft-driven four-wheel-drive system uses a tough center driveshaft that joins the front and rear oil-filed differentials. The steel-gear differentials feed power to the wheels through huge Maxx-Duty driveshafts with upgraded U-joints.
Jato 4X4 uses new one-piece heavy duty camber and toe links with double-shear camber link mounts on the shock towers for added strength. This energy-absorbing design allows the links to return to shape if flexed and they won’t pull apart in a crash. The links are already pre-set for track-worthy handling and optimal settings.
Jato 4X4’s modular chassis features front and rear bulkheads that remove easily with just a few screws. In less than a minute using a power screwdriver, you’ll have full access for easy service and adjustment.

Jato 4X4’s new heavy duty shock towers are beefed up with double-shear link mounts and extra material to withstand rollovers without incident. The front shock caps are protected under reinforcing ridges and the molded wing locks directly into the rear tower for extra rigidity.
A fixed gear adapter take the guesswork out of setting your gear mesh with five preset gearing positions. Insert the motor screw through the desired gearing position for a perfect gear mesh every time. The fixed positioning also keeps the gear mesh tight, even after the harshest impacts.
The patented High-Current Connectors funnel maximum power to the vehicle’s electronics. High-Current Connectors also provide the quickest, safest charge for Traxxas batteries.
Jato 4X4 uses a rugged clipless body latching system for secure mounting and easy removal. Four side latches lock the body firmly in place to eliminate wobble and flutter at high speeds. The aggressive aero body comes pre-painted and cut with decals already applied.
Jato 4X4 borrows a page from Sledge’s top-spec engineering by incorporating its unique T-Bar chassis stiffener design. The T-Bar delivers cross-sectional stiffness no round tube can match.
The Extreme Heavy Duty Upgrade Kit comes factory-installed on Jato 4X4 for ultimate strength and durability. The axle carriers, C-hubs, and steering blocks are beefed up with more material and stronger construction.
A waterproof receiver box keeps the receiver safe and dry while still allowing easy access for maintenance. The antenna and servo wires route neatly through a patented water-tight seal for true all-weather fun.
An adjustable battery hold-down accommodates a wide variety of batteries from NiMH packs to powerful LiPo batteries. The extended battery tray allows the packs to be positioned forward or backward for front/rear weight bias tuning. An optional battery expander kit (sold separately) is available for use with oversize batteries.
In the event of signal loss due to an accidental transmitter switch-off or depleted batteries, the receiver automatically returns the throttle to neutral and holds the last commanded steering position. The fail-safe programming is conveniently built-in and does not need to be activated.
Agile handling requires a steering servo that’s both strong and fast. The included 2075 digital high-speed, high-torque servo features ball bearings for precise control and quick reflexes.
The dual-bellcrank design pivots smoothly even in the harshest conditions. An integrated cam-type servo saver protects the steering servo from crash impacts without sacrificing steering precision.

Jato’s 4X4 driveline is built to handle standard brushless horsepower power and even the extreme Velineon® 3s brushless power upgrade down the road. The spur gear features large 32-pitch teeth for total reliability no matter how much power you pour on.
Jato 4X4’s 17 mm hex hubs create a large contact area for maximum grip on the wheel. Their splined design interlocks with the wheels using aluminum nuts that won’t let go. Best of all, the hubs are compatible with most 1/8 scale buggy wheels using a traditional 17 mm hub design. Installation and removal is quick and painless with the included wheel wrench.
Jato 4X4’s Maxx-duty® driveshafts with beefed-up U-joints are built to handle brushless power without breaking a sweat. Large 6 mm axles lock into the included 17 mm splined wheel hexes for unmatched strength and durability.
Sealed steel-gear differentials are ready to handle brushless power without costly upgrades. Silicone gaskets and X-ring seals allow the differentials to be tuned for specific running conditions by varying the viscosity of the oil inside them.
