The new XRT is the companion to X-Maxx that is engineered for a race-inspired driving experience with its sharp handling and unmatched speed.
Traxxas engineers spent countless hours designing every joint, angle, and touch point for maximum strength and convenience. The race-inspired triangulated structure transfers and dissipates impact energy through the chassis to minimize the possibility bending or breaking a support.
New high-strength front and rear axle carriers house large sealed ball bearings and are a compatible upgrade for X-Maxx. (parts #7832, 7836, 7852).

The Velineon® 1200XL brushless motor is a brute 8s powerhouse that features increased cooling from a massive heatsink and dual fans.
X-Maxx pioneered 8s toughness with an engineered all-metal driveline. XRT uses the same Traxxas-Tough™ driveline with sealed 4-gear differentials and extreme-duty diff covers to increase bearing support and eliminate flex.
Low center of gravity, race-tuned aluminum shocks and an ultra-wide stance give XRT razor-sharp reflexes and flat cornering response that feels track ready. Off the track XRT is equally at home ripping full-throttle 8s powerslides with massive roost and a never-lift attitude.
Innovative cold air intakes direct cooling air over the motor and speed control for increased efficiency and run time. The hood mounted intake integrates with the shock tower to deliver air to the VXL-8s™ Speed control. The roof vent channels cooling air directly to the dual motor fans.

XRT’s performance-focused chassis design is configured to lower the center of gravity for superior handling and stability. The dual 6700 4s batteries and the steering servo are positioned to place the weight as low as possible in the chassis and provide protection for these critical components.
XRT’s patent-pending clipless body easily removes and installs in just seconds and yet it locks in place with incredible strength and security. The system uses a cage inside the body to minimize flex while external skids are strategically placed to protect the body.
XRT’s Gravix™ race tires are a revolutionary new hybrid design with densely packed biting edges and sipes. They deliver outstanding grip on hard-packed surfaces along with fast and quiet-running precision.
Already Traxxas’ most powerful speed control, XRT’s VXL-8s™ goes even further with an aggressive tune that maximizes power output across the entire RPM range. XRT’s wheelie bar helps prevent backflips under full-throttle acceleration and flexes to absorb impacts on less-than-perfect landings. The integrated wheelie bar also functions as a convenient handle to transport XRT to your next adventure.
XRT’s rugged top skids protect the clipless body from damage. Internal reinforcements maintain the body’s integrity.
XRT’s revolutionary Gravix tires are built to run hard at the track or in the wild. The directional tread pattern runs quieter than typical off-road tires with excellent traction and a thick center carcass to prevent ballooning at high speed.
Cold-air intakes are fully integrated into XRT’s clipless body frame for maximum strength and tear prevention. The lower intake even features an internal grille to keep rocks and other debris out of the chassis and away from the steering components.
GTX™ aluminum race shocks are built for ultra-smooth, long-lasting performance. The heavy-duty springs and shock bodies are tuned for high-performance handling that complements XRT’s low and lean stance.
XRT’s shock towers are an integral part of the frame with massive buttresses to dissipate shock loads throughout the chassis. Heavy-duty receivers secure the clipless body latches directly to the towers for maximum strength.
XRT’s chassis relies on modules that key into each other at precise angles to add strength and support where it’s needed most. This high-strength design also makes maintenance a breeze.
XRT’s aluminum heatsink wraps around nearly 75% of the motor’s exposed surface to pull out more heat. Dual electric fan shrouds draw cooling air from the body vents through the oversized fins for more effective cooling performance and longer run times.
A rock-solid motor mount cradles the motor and locks it in place so it can’t flex or slip out of position. Four keyed pins set the gear mesh, eliminating the need for complicated adjustments.
Hook and loop battery hold down straps are messy, frustrating, and steal time away from your driving fun. Traxxas engineering solves this with our proven snap-lock solution that securely holds and protects batteries. You can even insert body clips for maximum battery security.
XRT’s fun is not limited by mud, snow, or water. A sealed receiver box with an easy access port protects the TQi receiver for all-weather driving.
XRT’s dual-bellcrank steering system delivers sharp handling and fast reflexes with the security of a heavy-duty cam-style servo saver. The servo saver sits at the top of the steering post, keeping it away from dirt and debris that can affect performance. Special vents keep everything running smoothly by evacuating dirt and debris away from the steering components.
XRT’s three rugged skid plates key together tightly to protect the chassis from damage. The front skid plate was designed at just the right angle to kick the front end up and prevent digging into the ground when landing nose down.
XRT’s suspension arms are made from our toughest heavy-duty composite material with double-shear connections for incredible strength. The rear wing and front bumper mount with an oval support ring that deflects just enough to absorb impact forces while returning to its pre-formed shape almost instantly.
Thick constant-velocity steel driveshafts increase XRT’s suspension travel and steering angles with legendary Traxxas-Tough® durability. Splined differential outputs provide incredible strength with easy cleaning and service.
Extreme-duty front and rear hub carriers feature oversize bearings to handle the XRT’s 8s drivetrain. Full-contact bearing seals keep out dirt and grime for less time spent on cleaning and maintenance.
The all-metal Torque-Biasing Center Drive uses 20M weight oil to transfer power evenly to all four wheels to prevent unloading under full-throttle acceleration.
Proven in the 8s X-Maxx, the Cush Drive absorbs driveline shocks but sends pure uninterrupted power straight to the Torque-Biasing Center Drive for relentless acceleration.
A large-diameter aluminum center driveshaft carries power to the front and rear differentials. Splined drives are used throughout for precise engagement, incredible strength, and smooth running. Innovative felt seals keep dust and debris out of the central tunnel.
XRT’s sealed 4-gear differentials are proven tough and feature our largest ring and pinion gears. They are filled with heavyweight oil, giving drivers the confidence to power slide through turns with massive roost and total control.
